Senior Business Development Manager – West Africa

About the role

The Senior Business Development Manager will support a government‑linked organisation in expanding trade and investment opportunities across West and Central Africa, focusing on Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal. The role combines market intelligence, partnership development and on‑the‑ground business facilitation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop business and investment opportunities across Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, building a robust pipeline of projects and partnerships.
• Conduct market research, produce intelligence reports and sector analyses, and support companies with market entry and expansion strategies.
• Establish and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, business associations, investors and senior‑level stakeholders, representing the organisation at trade and investment events.
• Organise and participate in business missions, B2B meetings and networking events, and travel frequently across West and Central Africa.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, market analysis, consulting, trade promotion or a related field, preferably within an international or government‑linked environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of West African markets, especially Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal, and an established professional network in the region.
• Fluent in English and French, with strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities to produce market intelligence and strategic insights.
