Senior Specialist, Mining Construction

About the role

The Senior Specialist, Mining Construction will lead and oversee coordination and execution of mining projects at Obuasi Mine, ensuring safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of infrastructure and operational initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction plans, timelines, resources and budgets for each project phase.
• Maintain at least 60% underground presence to validate designs, support execution teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Facilitate communication between engineering, planning and construction teams and manage level‑6 schedules.
• Ensure compliance with approved designs, engineering standards and Ghanaian Mineral and Mining Regulations.
• Monitor project expenditure, report cost performance and implement corrective actions to avoid rework.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in underground mining with exposure to infrastructure or project‑focused roles.
• Tertiary qualification in Mining, Mechanical, Structural, Civil or related engineering.
• Valid Ghanaian manual driver’s licence and ability to work underground.
• Physically fit to meet site medical and functional capacity requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AUTOCAD.
• Strong command of MS Office Suite.
