Service Supervisor – Field (Underground Mining Equipment)

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Service Supervisor – Field to lead maintenance operations for underground mining equipment. The role ensures Epiroc machine availability, reliability and performance through strategic planning, condition monitoring and best‑practice maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, prioritize and perform preventive maintenance according to Epiroc OEM specifications.
• Support technical activities to maximise machine reliability, availability and functionality in coordination with customer planning and execution teams.
• Lead technical services, execution and commissioning in the field while managing technicians’ competence and training.
• Conduct daily inspections, record deviations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Drive product safety campaigns, warranty claims and technical upgrades across the site fleet.
• Assist with sub‑assembly repairs and machine rebuilds in workshops as required.
• Manage safe storage and maintenance of company vehicles and tools.
• Oversee performance & development reviews and competence development plans for all team members.
• Coordinate site personnel, including Warehouse/VMI teams, to guarantee parts availability.
• Focus on planned maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime and support customer operational and sustainability goals.
• Execute additional projects assigned by management.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience in maintenance management within mining or heavy‑industry environments.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with underground mining equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, RCS).
• Strong knowledge of heavy mining equipment such as drills, loaders and trucks.
• Proven ability to work with mining contractors and manage site‑based maintenance operations.
• Resilient under pressure with a results‑driven mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
