Shift Supervisor - Production

About the role

The Mining Department of Tarkwa Gold Mine is looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor – Production to lead daily mining operations. The role focuses on safely achieving production targets while driving continuous improvement and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure qualitative and quantitative output by efficiently using personnel, equipment, and resources.
• Initiate cost‑saving measures and improve productivity on assigned projects.
• Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement throughout the shift.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and prepare reports.
• Organise staff and equipment to meet daily production goals safely.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify correct work procedures.
• Chair daily toolbox safety meetings and document outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, environmentally friendly working environment.
• Apply technical knowledge to solve operational problems during the shift.
• Oversee topsoil and waste‑dump management practices.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a supervisor on a surface (open‑pit) mine.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable mining regulations.
• Proven experience in surface mining operations.
• Mine Captain and Supervisory Skills Training certificates.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse cultures.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to obtain a site driver permit.
