Software Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead our software engineering team in Accra and Tema. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and is responsible for guiding the design, development and delivery of high‑quality software solutions that meet customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the team in evaluating design options and delivering optimal solutions based on analytical judgment and customer interests.
• Research emerging technologies and provide insights on their application to existing product offerings.
• Ensure code is written for high availability, reusability and modularity, focusing on optimization and efficiency.
• Design data‑push and pull interfaces using modern web and data‑sharing technologies and integrate with third‑party providers.
• Author comprehensive technical design documentation and oversee development against functional and technical specifications.
• Report operational achievements, statistical analyses and improvement plans to senior management.
• Prepare policies, procedures and other operating documents and deliver yearly department performance targets.
• Supervise immediate subordinates, set performance targets, conduct reviews, identify training needs and administer disciplinary actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Development or a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on software development experience.
• Project Management certification and MCSE preferred.
• Strong conflict‑handling and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• MS SQL Server database.
• Microsoft .NET technology.
• PHP, XML and Java programming.
• Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0.
• Experience with financial domain software packages.
