Software Engineer – Web, Mobile & Blockchain

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join the New York University Center for Technology and Economic Development in Ghana. The role involves building and maintaining web, iOS and Android applications while supporting research on mobile, blockchain and emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software architectures.
• Develop, deploy and maintain web applications and native iOS/Android apps.
• Assist the Center Director with research projects involving mobile apps, blockchain and related technologies.
• Travel to the CTED Research Center in Kumawu as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Proficiency in Go, JavaScript and Solidity.
• Experience with AWS services (Elastic Beanstalk, Fargate, EC2, S3, Route 53) and Docker.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially AWS CodePipeline.
• Strong background in REST APIs or gRPC, PostgreSQL, Flutter, Node.js and Ethereum smart contracts.
