Sonographer – Accra Hospital

About the role

Lapaz Community Hospital is seeking qualified Sonographers to join its diagnostic imaging team in Accra. The successful candidate will perform ultrasound examinations, produce high‑quality images and support clinicians in patient diagnosis.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct abdominal, obstetric, vascular and other ultrasound examinations according to hospital protocols.
• Prepare patients, explain procedures and ensure comfort and safety during scans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and produce detailed reports of findings.
• Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret results and recommend further investigations.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Sonography (or equivalent) with a valid PIN.
• Minimum two years of professional experience performing diagnostic ultrasound.
• Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in sonographic techniques and image acquisition.
