Technical & Operational MERL Support Consultant (Contract)

About the role

The World University Service of Canada (WUSC) is seeking a senior consultant to provide technical and operational support to its Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) unit under the ACTIVATE project in Ghana. This short‑term contract runs from 1 September 2026 to 31 December 2026, with a possible extension to 31 August 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the MERL Manager in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for the ACTIVATE agricultural TVET initiative.
• Collect, clean, and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from project activities.
• Prepare timely progress reports, dashboards, and learning briefs for donors and stakeholders.
• Support capacity‑building workshops for project staff on MERL tools and methodologies.
• Contribute to research activities, including literature reviews and case‑study documentation.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least six years of experience in MERL for development projects.
• Demonstrated experience in agricultural or technical‑vocational education projects, preferably in Ghana or similar contexts.
• Strong understanding of donor‑funded program requirements (e.g., GAC, FCDO, Mastercard Foundation).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
