Technical Writer Consultant (Global)

About the role

AGRA is seeking experienced technical writers on a consultancy basis to help showcase its agricultural development achievements across sub‑Saharan Africa. The role involves creating clear, compelling communications that highlight success stories, best‑practice initiatives and policy impacts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and write success‑story narratives, case studies and best‑practice articles.
• Produce content for newsletters, annual and programmatic reports, policy briefs and press statements.
• Collaborate with AGRA’s communications team to ensure messaging aligns with organisational goals.
• Generate multimedia scripts or outlines for videos and other digital assets.
• Maintain consistency of tone, style and branding across all written materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical or communications writing, preferably for NGOs or development projects.
• Strong ability to translate complex agricultural concepts into accessible language.
• Excellent research, interviewing and storytelling skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
