Utility Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a Utility Supervisor to lead the daily operation and maintenance of all utility systems across our Accra and Tema facilities. The role ensures high equipment availability, compliance with safety standards, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operation and maintenance of utility systems to maximise equipment availability.
• Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
• Monitor performance, identify faults and implement timely corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Lead and assign tasks to utility technicians, monitoring their performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment logs and operational reports.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to guarantee uninterrupted utility supply.
• Monitor utility consumption and propose cost‑saving and energy‑efficiency measures.
• Manage spare parts and maintenance material inventory.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning and continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in utility operations or industrial maintenance, with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness or similar industrial environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and equipment reliability practices.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial utility systems (boilers, generators, air compressors, water treatment plants, refrigeration, HVAC).
• Excellent troubleshooting and fault‑diagnosis abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) – an advantage.
