Vice Chancellor – University Executive Leadership

About the role

The Vice Chancellor is the chief academic and administrative head of Koforidua Technical University. Acting as the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice Chancellor reports to the Governing Council and is responsible for steering the university’s academic, financial and operational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and conduct the university’s academic programmes, research initiatives and teaching activities.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting and resource allocation to ensure fiscal sustainability.
• Lead administrative functions, including human resources, facilities management and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Promote efficiency, innovation and impact across all university operations.
• Represent the university in external relations, fostering partnerships with industry and community stakeholders.

Required profile

• Hold a professorial status with a research postgraduate (preferably terminal) degree.
• Be an internationally recognised academic or distinguished scholar.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, manage and direct large staff teams.
• Extensive senior administrative experience in higher education.
• Exemplary integrity, vision, and the capacity to make impartial judgments.
• Proven track record in fundraising, resource mobilisation and crisis management.
• Ability to serve a full four‑year term before reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
