Welfare Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Welfare Officer to oversee the well‑being of our Champions in Accra and Tema. The role involves monitoring attendance, handling personal requests, and developing strategies that improve retention and employee engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Track daily attendance of Champions and follow up on absences.
• Monitor turnover and retention rates and propose improvements.
• Attend to Champions’ personal events such as leave, birthdays, deaths, and accidents.
• Research and suggest insurance and HMO options; collect related fees.
• Handle emergency issues (accidents, harassment, law‑enforcement matters) and escalate when necessary.
• Conduct exit interviews, collate feedback and provide recommendations.
• Design and run champion surveys, analyze data and suggest retention initiatives.
• Implement recognition and appreciation programs and foster champion networks.
• Maintain accurate hard‑copy and digital records of champion information.
• Prepare periodic analytical reports for supervisors.
• Update insurance and HMO databases and develop creative welfare strategies.
• Interpret data, develop databases and collection systems, clean data and identify trends.
• Collaborate with line managers to prioritize business and information needs.

Required profile

• Entry‑level with up to 12 months of relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• People‑management and administrative abilities.
• Empathetic, objective, resilient and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to prioritize, plan and organise work effectively.
