Workshop Engineer – Fabrication and Construction

About the role

The Workshop Engineer – Fabrication and Construction is responsible for planning, supervising and executing fabrication, welding and construction activities to deliver engineering projects and maintenance works safely, on time and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise workshop and on‑site fabrication and construction works, ensuring compliance with project timelines and quality standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications, and produce detailed fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Plan and coordinate cutting, welding, fitting, machining and assembly activities, guaranteeing availability of materials, tools and equipment.
• Conduct inspections of fabricated structures and components to verify dimensional accuracy, structural integrity and adherence to welding procedures.
• Ensure all fabrication and welding processes meet engineering standards and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in workshop fabrication, construction or heavy‑industrial operations.
• Professional registration with a recognized engineering body (e.g., GHIE) is required; MINCOM certification is highly desirable.
