Advisor Technical Training, Health & Safety

About the role

The Advisor Technical Training, Health & Safety will design, deliver and evaluate technical and operational training for new hires, existing staff and contractors at Newmont's Ahafo mining operations. The role focuses on enhancing performance, ensuring safety compliance and supporting continuous improvement across mining activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver in‑person and virtual training sessions covering technical and operational mining aspects.
• Provide constructive feedback to trainees and monitor their progress.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure training content is accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Maintain technical documentation and stay current with industry trends.
• Assess the effectiveness of training programs and assist in their development.
• Offer technical support where required and coordinate with other functions, escalating issues as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Education & Training, Engineering or a related field.
• Workplace Trainer and Assessor certification.
• Mincom Inspecting or Sectional Engineering certificate of competency.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a mining or related environment.
