Area Sales Manager – Ghana

About the role

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales performance across a defined territory in Ghana, overseeing distribution channels, and leading a field sales team to achieve growth targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and achieve sales targets for the assigned territory, developing monthly, quarterly and annual plans.
• Develop and support local distributors and wholesalers, expanding both traditional and modern trade channels such as Shoprite Ghana and Melcom.
• Lead, coach and set targets for Sales Representatives and Distributor Sales Representatives, ensuring high‑performance execution.
• Optimize route‑to‑market strategies to improve numeric and weighted distribution coverage.
• Ensure in‑store merchandising, execute consumer and trade promotions, and gather market intelligence.
• Analyze sell‑in and sell‑out data, monitor inventory levels and provide forecasts and improvement plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or related field.
• 5–8 years of sales experience, preferably in FMCG, with at least 2 years of team management.
• Strong understanding of Ghana’s distributor‑driven sales model and traditional trade dynamics.
• Experience in multinational companies is a plus.
