Art Director

About the role

Publicis West Africa is seeking a senior‑level Art Director to lead the visual development of integrated campaigns for clients across the Central and West Africa region. You will work from our Accra office, collaborating closely with copywriters, creative directors, strategists and production teams to deliver high‑impact, insight‑driven creative work.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise, develop and execute visual ideas that meet client briefs and uphold local and international creative standards.
• Partner with copywriters to create integrated ATL, BTL, digital, social and activation concepts.
• Art‑direct photo and video shoots, illustration, design and animation, providing clear direction to external partners.
• Prepare and present layouts, storyboards, mood boards and design concepts to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Write detailed production briefs for suppliers and ensure high‑quality execution across all channels.
• Maintain and protect each brand’s visual identity, tone and personality according to brand guidelines.
• Adapt and trans‑create campaign visuals for different markets, including English and Francophone versions.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 5 years (60 months) of relevant experience.
• Proven track record delivering integrated campaigns across television, print, outdoor, radio, digital and social media.
• Strong visual storytelling ability and a deep understanding of brand identity.
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate concepts clearly to clients and internal teams.
• Experience working in multicultural environments and collaborating with partner agencies.
