Assistant Auditor

About the role

The Audit Service is seeking an Assistant Auditor to support audit engagements in Accra. The role involves preparing and maintaining audit documentation, analysing findings and assisting senior staff to ensure compliance with public sector auditing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain current audit working papers and ensure they are ready for review by the Unit Leader at the conclusion of each audit.
• Prepare audit observations and support them with adequate documentation for submission.
• Complete assigned tasks within established deadlines.
• Assist the Team Leader, Branch Head or District Auditor with additional duties as required.

Required profile

• First degree in Accounting from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Second degree in Accounting, Auditing or Finance from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Partial qualification in ICAG, ACCA or CIMA (Level 1 or 2).
• National Service Certificate.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency.
• Research and data analysis capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication and report‑writing skills.
• Knowledge of finance, public‑sector laws and auditing standards.
• High integrity and professional conduct.
