Assistant Farm/Lab Manager

About the role

GA Farms is seeking an Assistant Farm/Lab Manager to support both poultry and crop operations in the Accra & Tema region. You will work closely with the farm manager to ensure high‑quality animal health monitoring, feed testing, and crop yield forecasting while maintaining strict bio‑security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee disease monitoring activities including necropsies, blood sampling, and microbiological testing for pathogens such as Salmonella and Avian Influenza.
• Manage quality control of feed, water, and soil, conducting nutritional and safety analyses.
• Conduct vaccination efficacy assessments by measuring antibody titers.
• Lead, hire, and train laboratory technicians, enforcing safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with Ghana Food and Drugs Authority regulations and other agricultural standards.
• Record, analyze, and report testing trends to farm management and veterinarians.
• Control laboratory budget, procure reagents, and maintain equipment calibration.
• Assist the farm manager with day‑to‑day farm operations.

Required profile

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Microbiology, Veterinary Technology, Crop Science or a related field.
• Minimum 12 months of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of avian anatomy, common flock diseases, plant pathology for corn and tomatoes, and immunization practices.
