Assistant Head, Assets, Estate and Procurement

About the role

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Assistant Head, Assets, Estate and Procurement. The role combines leadership of asset management, estate oversight and procurement functions to support the organization’s operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement asset management policies and maintain accurate asset registers, including tagging, valuation and periodic audits.
• Oversee utilization, maintenance and disposal of assets in compliance with regulations.
• Manage office buildings, residential facilities and other estates, ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Plan, supervise and monitor construction, renovation or refurbishment projects.
• Support procurement of goods, works and services, prepare annual procurement plans and ensure timely execution.
• Participate in bid evaluation, supplier selection, contract management and monitor vendor performance.
• Prepare regular reports on assets, estate and procurement activities for senior management.
• Provide technical advice on policy development and process improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Architecture, Estate Management, Building Technology, Procurement & Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Age between 40 and 55 years.
• Professional teacher and GNAT member in good standing is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, asset management systems and estate operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with ERP software.
