Assistant Sales Manager – Local Hire

About the role

The Assistant Sales Manager will support the Director of Sales in driving revenue for the hotel in Accra. Working with an assigned portfolio of accounts and geographic markets, the role focuses on maximizing revenue, prospecting new clients and ensuring the hotel meets its sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage key accounts within the assigned geographic area, aiming to increase market share and achieve revenue goals.
• Prospect and acquire new accounts across target markets, including European segments.
• Conduct site inspections, follow corporate SOPs and maintain detailed knowledge of competitors and hotel services.
• Negotiate contracts, implement SMART contracting and support annual rate negotiations.
• Attend trade shows, sales blitzes and workshops to promote the hotel.
• Assist in preparing the annual sales action plan, budget forecasts and updating the SFA system.
• Maintain the OPERA contact database and cross‑sell other Kempinski properties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar sales role within a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with solid negotiation and selling skills.

Required skills

• Micros Fidelio Opera (Sales & Catering module).
• Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• CRM software proficiency.
