Business Development Manager – Ghana

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead student recruitment and admissions for the American University of Barbados across Ghana. Reporting to the Director of International Admissions & Recruitment, the role focuses on attracting qualified candidates to the MBBS/MD and Pre‑Medical programmes and expanding the university’s presence in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit qualified students for MBBS/MD and Pre‑Medical programmes and achieve enrollment targets.
• Generate and nurture leads through outreach, referrals, events, and digital platforms.
• Conduct counselling sessions via phone, email, webinars, social media, and face‑to‑face meetings.
• Advise prospective students and parents on admission requirements, tuition, scholarships, accommodation, and student life.
• Assist applicants with application preparation, verify credentials, and coordinate with the Barbados Admissions Department.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, consultants, healthcare institutions, and community organisations.
• Organise recruitment drives, seminars, workshops, fairs, and information sessions.
• Represent the university at educational exhibitions, conferences, and recruitment events.

Required profile

• Highly motivated professional with strong counselling, relationship‑building, and sales abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and partners.
• Ability to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual enrollment targets.
• Experience in student recruitment, admissions, or business development is preferred.
