Cardiac Physiologist

About the role

The Cardiac Physiologist will deliver high‑quality, patient‑focused cardiology diagnostic services at the new Bank Hospital in Accra. Working closely with physicians, you will perform a range of invasive and non‑invasive tests, maintain specialised equipment, and support cath‑lab procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and clean procedure rooms before, between, and after cases.
• Conduct diagnostic tests such as ECGs, treadmill stress tests, blood pressure and heart‑rate monitoring, ultrasound, and echocardiography.
• Operate and maintain specialised equipment, including cardiac ultrasound scanners and intra‑aortic balloon pumps.
• Select, adjust, and program pacemakers and ICDs for surgeons.
• Monitor patients’ progress, perform regular follow‑ups on implanted devices, and provide long‑term monitoring for heart‑valve patients.
• Calibrate equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, and ensure all cardiovascular systems are functioning correctly.
• Analyse test data, produce physiological reports, and communicate findings to cardiologists and surgeons.
• Document patient records, register service dates, and verify medical histories.

Required profile

• Degree in healthcare science, science, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and competency to perform diagnostic procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Professional, calm, confident, and caring interpersonal style.
