Category Manager – Global Supply Chain

About the role

American Tower is looking for a Category Manager to join its Global Supply Chain organization. In this role you will lead the sourcing function for a specific spend area, partnering cross‑functionally to secure quality materials and services while driving cost efficiency and supplier innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute short‑ and long‑range sourcing strategies for the assigned category.
• Design and manage tactical sourcing programs, adapting to market changes and new business opportunities.
• Conduct internal and external research to keep category strategies current and identify risk mitigation and value‑creation opportunities.
• Advise stakeholders on best‑practice sourcing, negotiation tactics, and supplier relationship management.
• Lead a team to build strategic supplier partnerships that enhance total value.
• Monitor operational risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, or Supply Management.
• 6‑8 years of progressive experience in sourcing or procurement within a strategic sourcing team.
• Proven experience managing supplier relationships and contracts.
• Strong project management, organization, and leadership abilities.
• Professional certifications such as CPM, CPSM, or CPIM are strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
