CIC Supervisor – Underground

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanised underground operation. The CIC Supervisor – Underground will lead the CIC refurbishment team, ensuring plant availability, safety and cost‑effectiveness while supporting the mine’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control output of the underground CIC refurbishment team in line with quality and safety standards.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews of CIC refurbishment and later maintenance activities.
• Develop and execute condition‑monitoring routes, performing visual, infrared, ultrasonic, motor‑current, flux and simple NDT checks.
• Analyse vibration, infrared and other predictive‑maintenance data to assess equipment health and generate SAP work requests.
• Participate in maintenance review programmes and Root Cause Failure Analysis for CIC equipment.
• Identify and implement cost‑reduction initiatives and coordinate refurbishment work with contractors.
• Report performance, issues and improvement projects directly to the CIC Superintendent.

Required profile

• Proven experience in underground mining equipment maintenance and refurbishment.
• Self‑motivated, able to work under total quality management principles.
• Familiarity with environmental management plans and safety standards.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
