CIC Technician – Process Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine and seeks an experienced CIC Technician for the Process Plant. The role supports safe, compliant maintenance of the plant’s control and instrumentation (CIC) systems across day and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on CIC equipment, including visual inspections, infrared, ultrasonic, motor‑current, flux and simple NDT measurements.
• Collect, analyse and trend condition‑monitoring data (vibration, IR, etc.) to assess plant health and generate work requests in SAP.
• Conduct periodic audits of refurbishment and maintenance activities, and participate in root‑cause failure analysis.
• Support the CIC Supervisor in developing monitoring routes, reporting performance, and identifying continuous‑improvement actions.
• Coordinate with contractors, monitor schedules, and propose cost‑saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian government regulations, environmental management plans and health‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated professional with a strong sense of personal health‑ and safety responsibility.
• Ability to work on‑site in a mining environment, day and night shifts.
• Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting process plant control and instrumentation systems.
• Good reporting skills and ability to work within SAP and asset‑health systems.

Required skills

• Condition monitoring techniques (vibration, infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing).
• Motor‑current and flux data collection.
• Basic non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Use of portable data collectors and SAP work‑order generation.
• Root‑cause failure analysis and cost‑reduction project implementation.
• Repair of instrumentation, communication and control equipment.
