CIC Pastefill Technician

About the role

The Technician, CIC – Pastefill is responsible for all Control, Instrumentation and Communication (CIC) maintenance within the pastefill area of the Obuasi Gold Mine. The role ensures plant availability by monitoring, operating and executing maintenance work to engineering standards while minimizing operational risk.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day shift monitoring, inspection and weekly preventive maintenance of CIC equipment to OEM standards.
• Execute refurbishment and corrective maintenance tasks, coordinating with contractors and updating work orders in SAP.
• Provide performance data and status updates to the E&I Supervisor – Pastefill and report any equipment anomalies.
• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian regulations, environmental management plans, and company safety procedures.
• Support cost‑effective operations by identifying potential cost‑reduction initiatives and participating in audits.

Required profile

• Technician II Certificate or equivalent; Associate degree or technical diploma in Engineering Technology; City & Guilds Part II certificate (MINCOM certification advantageous).
• 1–2 years of technical experience, preferably in the mining industry.

Required skills

• Strong CIC and electronics maintenance capability.
• Fixed plant operations knowledge.
• Instrumentation and communication systems expertise.
• Experience with SAP work order management.
• Preventive maintenance planning and execution.
