Clearing Supervisor – Customs & Port Operations

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Procurement Director, the Clearing Supervisor will manage all customs clearance and port operations for imports and exports across Ghana, primarily at Tema. The role ensures seamless movement of goods while maintaining strict compliance with local and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end customs clearance processes, preparing and verifying documentation and coordinating with customs, port authorities, shipping lines and freight forwarders.
• Monitor shipments to avoid demurrage, detention, UCL, penalties or storage charges through proactive planning.
• Oversee logistics from port clearance to final delivery, including transportation and warehousing coordination.
• Lead, supervise and develop a team of logistics coordinators, providing training on best practices and regulatory updates.
• Prepare detailed clearance reports, cost analyses and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 5‑6 years’ experience in customs clearing, freight forwarding or port operations in Ghana, preferably in beverage manufacturing.
• Proven supervisory or leadership experience with high integrity and safety focus.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Ghana Customs procedures, including GCNet/ICUMS systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic logistics or ERP systems.
