Commercial Manager – Project Commercial Role in Ghana

About the role

Mowlem Group is seeking a Project Commercial Manager to join its on‑site team in Ghana on a permanent overseas assignment. You will be responsible for commercial and contract management, procurement, and cost‑value management, ensuring the project remains profitable and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation and submission of pre‑qualification documents and tenders to secure future work.
• Prepare and update tender and construction risk‑management evaluations.
• Secure financial instruments such as performance bonds, retention guarantees, advance payment guarantees, and professional indemnity insurance.
• Prepare and submit interim applications for payment, including supporting calculations and documentation.
• Manage notifications and pursue entitlement to claims for additional time and costs.
• Oversee procurement activities and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify commercial opportunities, negotiate deals, and control costs to maximise profitability.

Required profile

• Significant senior‑level experience in commercial management within the construction or civil‑engineering sector.
• Previous overseas assignment or proven ability to work in an international project environment.
• Strong understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and cost‑control methodologies.
• Ability to lead and develop on‑site teams while managing financial aspects of large infrastructure projects.
