Commis I – Kitchen Assistant (Full‑Time)

About the role

Marriott International is seeking an enthusiastic Commis I to join its Food & Beverage team in Accra, Ghana. This entry‑level, full‑time position supports daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, chop, and store ingredients; wash and peel fresh produce.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food for doneness, monitor quality, and ensure proper presentation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain sanitation of kitchen areas, tools, and equipment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, follow safety policies, and report any hazards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related food‑preparation or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Willingness to adhere to company policies, safety standards, and professional appearance.
