Compliance Manager (Expatriate)

About the role

An African energy and infrastructure enterprise, with interests in upstream oil and gas, mining, finance, construction and heavy industries, is hiring an expatriate Compliance & Risk Manager in Accra and Tema. The role reports to the Global Director of Compliance, Risk & Internal Control and is responsible for establishing, implementing and managing a compliance management framework, coordinating day-to-day compliance activities and monitoring regulatory, contractual and lender obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the Compliance Management Framework, annual compliance plan and related procedures.
• Coordinate the identification, documentation and monitoring of regulatory, contractual, lender and internal policy obligations across the business.
• Maintain oversight of the compliance obligations register and rolling compliance calendar.
• Monitor submission, filing, certification, license, permit and renewal deadlines and escalate risks promptly.
• Conduct compliance reviews, support policy governance and provide clear management reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or risk management; a relevant master's degree is desirable.
• Certificate in CCEP, ICA Diploma, CAMS, CIA, CRMA or equivalent.
• Experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, risk management, internal audit, legal or related control functions.
• Experience leading projects, coordinating staff or managing significant compliance workstreams.
• Experience in oil and gas, energy, mining or financial services.
