Computational Mathematics Research Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Computational Mathematics Research Specialist to develop high-quality, research-grade mathematical problems and solutions for graduate-level quantitative reasoning. This short-term remote contract involves creating and validating computational tasks using scientific Python coding.

Key responsibilities

• Design and author computational mathematics problems using Python for scientific computing.
• Create graduate-level quantitative reasoning and computational problem-solving tasks.
• Define problem categories, difficulty levels, and appropriate classifications.
• Develop accurate, logically rigorous solutions employing mathematical and computational methods.
• Review and validate the accuracy and quality of problems and solutions.
• Collaborate with reviewers and project teams to refine content and maintain quality standards.
• Ensure all solutions are scientifically accurate, reproducible, and well documented.

Required profile

• PhD or PhD candidate in Computational Mathematics, Numerical Linear Algebra, Computational Mechanics, or a related field.
• At least one peer-reviewed research publication.
• Strong analytical and mathematical problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• LinkedIn profile is mandatory.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Python for scientific computing.
• Experience with numerical methods, mathematical modeling, and simulation (preferred).
• Background in academic research, scientific publishing, or advanced mathematical problem design (preferred).

• Short-term contract (8 weeks) with $80 paid per approved task.
• Remote work with an 8-hour daily commitment and 4-hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time.
