Consultant – Migration-Development Nexus for Ghana

About the role

The Economic Commission for Africa seeks a consultant to strengthen the migration‑development nexus in Ghana. The role involves providing technical advisory support, building capacity within Ghanaian institutions, and producing knowledge products that capture best practices for diaspora‑driven development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver continuous technical advisory services and capacity‑building activities to the National Diaspora Policy Council (NDPC) and relevant Ghanaian ministries.
• Prepare periodic monitoring, evaluation, and follow‑up reports on programme implementation and reform progress.
• Develop technical inputs and knowledge products documenting Ghana’s experience and best practices for replication in other countries.
• Design adapted tools, frameworks, and guidance to help other nations integrate diaspora contributions into national development planning and channel remittances toward investment.
• Coordinate deliverable timelines and plans in consultation with the ECA SRO‑NA team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in migration, diaspora policy, or development consultancy, preferably within an African context.
• Strong background in capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge management.
• Ability to produce high‑quality technical reports, policy briefs, and guidance documents.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with government ministries, NGOs, and private‑sector stakeholders.
