About the role
The University of Ghana seeks a dynamic senior professional to serve as Deputy Chief Information Technology Officer – Services. Reporting to the CITO, the role supports the university’s technology vision and leads the delivery of IT services that enhance teaching, learning, research and administration.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for academic, administrative and service engineering computing units.
- Define and enforce policies, standards and procedures for university-wide applications.
- Manage vendor relationships, procurement and cost‑effective delivery of software and services.
- Lead project teams to redesign core applications, systems and processes.
- Oversee recruitment, development, motivation and retention of IT staff.
- Assist in budgeting, financial monitoring and cost‑benefit analysis for IT initiatives.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Management or related field.
- Minimum eight years of progressive management or executive leadership experience, including enterprise‑wide system implementations.
- Professional certification in IT Service Management (ITSM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Strong understanding of information technologies, enterprise systems and database management.
