About the role
Koforidua Technical University seeks a dynamic, self‑motivated professional to serve as Deputy Director of Finance. This senior position supports the Director of Finance in overseeing all accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and audit functions for the university.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Finance in overall management and administration of the finance office as mandated by the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922).
- Coordinate preparation of the university’s consolidated financial statements and periodic financial reports.
- Prepare quarterly management accounts and semester financial reports.
- Supervise and review monthly financial reports of faculties and internally generated fund (IGF) units.
- Manage receivables, revenue, payables and reconciliation of internally generated funds.
- Ensure control and maintenance of all financial transactions and accounting records in compliance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and relevant government regulations.
- Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures.
- Oversee preparation of the operating budget, multi‑year fiscal planning, annual audit coordination and monthly variance reporting.
Required profile
- Research Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Accounting & Finance.
- Chartered accountant membership with a recognised professional body (e.g., ACCA, ICA, CPA, CPFA, CIMA).
- Minimum six years senior accountant experience in a university setting or ten years managerial experience in industry or public practice.
- Evidence of scholarly papers/publications for external assessment.
- Proficiency with accounting software applications and financial modelling.
- Analytical, critical thinker with result‑oriented, innovative and visionary mindset.
- Ability to work independently, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong team orientation.
