Desktop Support Engineer (Level 1) – Onsite

About the role

We are looking for a reliable, customer‑focused Desktop Support Engineer (Level 1) to provide on‑demand, task‑based onsite technical support for our clients in the Accra and Tema region. You will respond to local dispatch requests, troubleshoot hardware, software and basic network issues, and ensure minimal downtime for end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic hardware diagnostics, component replacements (RAM, storage, peripherals) and cable management for workstations, laptops and printers.
• Assist with Windows 10/11 OS setups, software installations, updates, patch deployment and password resets.
• Troubleshoot physical network connectivity, verify patch cables, run ping tests and confirm Wi‑Fi access.
• Attend assigned site visits, document technical steps and resolution details in ticketing systems.
• Support asset setup, unboxing, cabling and basic tagging under guidance of senior engineers.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in IT help‑desk or field desktop support (minimum 1 month).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear verbal communication.
• Punctual, reliable and able to work independently on client locations.
• Willingness to follow step‑by‑step documentation from senior support leads.

Required skills

• PC hardware components knowledge.
• Windows 10/11 operating systems.
• CompTIA A+ (or equivalent) certification – preferred.
• Microsoft 365 suite.
• Ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira or Zendesk.
• Basic TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP concepts.
• Remote support tools.
