Director of Allied Health Services

About the role

The Board of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) is seeking a senior leader to head its Allied Health Services. The Director will provide strategic direction, oversee governance, and ensure high‑quality clinical care across all allied health disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and guide the development of short‑, medium‑ and long‑term plans and budgets for Allied Health Services.
• Develop and implement systems to ensure compliance with Allied Health governance and infection‑control standards.
• Support, monitor and evaluate programs and projects that enhance clinical‑care effectiveness.
• Design and manage systems for reviewing interventions, financing and resource allocation.
• Lead the development and management of clinical information systems.
• Create and sustain clinical‑care field programmes, ensuring their effectiveness.
• Supervise technical support for Allied Health activities and implementation partners.
• Establish support, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms aligned with strategic goals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Allied Health Science (or related field) from a recognized university.
• Good standing with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Ghana and relevant postgraduate qualification in health administration or management.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an Allied Health professional, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams, strong communication, problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in report writing, computer literacy and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Certification in Health Leadership and Management or Public Administration is required.

Required skills
