About the role

The Board of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is seeking a qualified professional to lead its nursing and midwifery services. As Director of Nursing Services, you will provide strategic leadership, ensure high‑quality clinical practice, and act as the principal technical advisor on nursing and midwifery matters across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Set, monitor, and evaluate nursing and midwifery practice standards in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• Promote and oversee quality‑assurance systems throughout the hospital.
• Advise on staffing needs, ensuring equitable distribution of personnel.
• Monitor performance, provide mentorship, and lead professional development initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and disseminate policies related to nursing and midwifery practice.
• Contribute to research, development, and strategic planning.
• Prepare regular reports for the Chief Executive Officer.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse or Midwife with a postgraduate qualification (Master’s degree) recognized by the Ghana Midwifery Council.
• Minimum of three years experience as Deputy Chief Nursing Officer or equivalent senior nursing leadership role.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving, and advocacy abilities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and team‑working skills.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
