Electrical & Instrumentation Technician (J1)

About the role

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician (J1) is responsible for the safe troubleshooting, repair, testing and general maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment at Newmont's Ahafo Mine. The role ensures plant processing and production are optimized while adhering to electrical codes and company safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities following Standard Task Procedures, Job Hazard Analyses and SAFE checks.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and operational faults affecting plant equipment and process performance.
• Install, inspect, test, maintain and repair electrical power and control systems, including AC variable speed drives, motors and related equipment.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single‑line diagrams and circuit drawings to support safe maintenance work.
• Use hand tools, portable electrical tools and workshop equipment safely, applying lock‑out/tag‑out controls.

Required profile

• Experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
• Ability to work safely in a mining environment and follow documented procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
