Electrical Technician – Winders

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine and needs an experienced Electrical Technician to maintain winders, winder house lighting, signals, shaft bank areas, dewatering systems and conveyors. The role operates on a shift pattern (3 days on, 5 days off) and requires strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical refurbishment and routine maintenance on winding equipment and related plant.
• Conduct daily pre‑start checks of tools and equipment, reporting any anomalies.
• Interface with contractors and construction teams for mechanical and electrical tasks.
• Maintain accurate work‑order data in SAP and support the Maintenance Planner.
• Ensure compliance with Ghana government regulations, AGAG policies and LI2182 standards.
• Participate in required training and development programs.

Required profile

• Secondary education level with a certified mechanical/electrical trade apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds).
• At least five years post‑apprenticeship experience working on winding equipment.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) regulations.
• Fully literate and numerate, competent in electrical trade practices.
• Knowledge of safe crane operation.
