Electrical Technician – Winders

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine and needs an experienced Electrical Technician to maintain and refurbish winders, winder houses, lighting, signals, shaft bank areas, de‑watering and conveyor systems.

Key responsibilities

• Execute electrical refurbishment and routine maintenance on winding equipment in compliance with Ghanaian regulations and AGAG safety standards (LI2182).
• Perform daily pre‑start checks of tools and equipment, report anomalies and ensure safe crane operations.
• Coordinate with contractors and construction teams for planned refurbishment works.
• Provide data to the Maintenance Planner and close work orders in SAP.

Required profile

• Secondary education with a certified mechanical/electrical trade apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds).
• Minimum five years post‑apprenticeship experience working on winding equipment.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.

Required skills

• Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on winding machinery.
• Safe crane operation.
• Use of SAP for maintenance work orders.
• Ability to conduct pre‑start equipment checks and produce checklists.
