Fabricator – Process Plant

About the role

The Fabricator – Process Plant will join the Mechanical team at AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi mine. You will be responsible for welding, boilermaking and general fabrication tasks that support the refurbishment, maintenance and safe operation of the processing plant.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out welding, fabrication and boilermaking work in compliance with Ghanaian mining, health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to execute mechanical tasks according to the plant work plan.
• Perform daily pre‑start checks on tools and equipment, report any anomalies and ensure safe operation of cranes and other plant machinery.
• Provide clear movement signals to crane operators and riggers during material handling.
• Prepare equipment checklists, transport required tools, and document work completion in SAP.
• Support the Maintenance Planner by supplying accurate data for work order closure.
• Execute tasks efficiently, cost‑effectively and within scheduled timeframes.

Required profile

• Secondary education with a certified apprenticeship in fabrication, welding or boilermaking (e.g., City & Guilds).
• Minimum five (5) years post‑apprenticeship experience in a similar trade.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) regulations.
• Self‑motivated, reliable and able to work across all shifts.
