Financial Controller – Manufacturing

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead the accounts and finance function for Polytanks Ghana’s manufacturing business. You will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, statutory compliance, robust controls, and effective working‑capital management while partnering with plant and business‑unit stakeholders to protect margins and drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all core accounting processes – Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Asset Register – ensuring compliance with local laws and IFRS.
• Execute month‑end closure activities (reconciliations, stock entries, provisions) within strict timelines and high accuracy.
• Drive working‑capital optimisation, monitor ageing of debtors, inventory and creditors, and mitigate related risks.
• Maintain statutory compliance (Excise, VAT, Income Tax) and internal audit requirements; oversee stock and fixed‑asset verification.
• Produce timely MIS reports with variance analysis, rolling forecasts, and lead the annual budgeting process.
• Develop business KPIs, performance trackers, and apply BOM, wastage, and material‑accounting knowledge within a manufacturing ERP environment.
• Partner with Business Unit Managers to support MRP, raw‑material price analysis, pricing decisions, and margin protection.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost & Management Accountant (CMA).
• 7‑10 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• High integrity and ownership of financial governance and compliance.
