Fintech Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Fintech Software Engineer to join our growing technology team. You will design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, high-performance financial technology solutions that support digital payments, lending, banking and other services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain fintech applications, APIs and microservices.
• Build scalable backend systems that handle financial transactions and integrate with payment gateways, banks and mobile money platforms.
• Participate in system design, architecture decisions and performance optimisation.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues and contribute to cloud infrastructure and DevOps initiatives.
• Implement secure coding standards, data protection measures and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers and other stakeholders in Agile ceremonies.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging fintech technologies and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in fintech, banking, payments or financial services.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Java, Python, C#, Node.js or Go.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and modern Git-based workflows.
