Full-stack Engineer (Payments Core)

About the role

We are looking for a senior full‑stack engineer to lead the design, build and evolution of our core payments processing engine. You will own the services that authorise, capture, settle and reconcile every transaction on the LibertéPay platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain services covering the full transaction lifecycle – authorisation, capture, refund, reversal, settlement and reconciliation.
• Implement webhook delivery, retry logic, idempotency and signature verification frameworks.
• Maintain enterprise‑relational database logic, including stored procedures, triggers and replication, with a focus on performance and consistency.
• Orchestrate background jobs and scheduled workloads, and support both Windows and Linux containerised environments.
• Author and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines (.gitlab-ci.yml), manage merge‑request workflows and ensure a green payments smoke suite.
• Participate in on‑call rotation as the first responder for payments‑related P1 incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in fintech or payments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent written English and ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Experience working under PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 compliance frameworks.

Required skills

• Strong production experience with a mainstream enterprise object‑oriented framework for distributed transactional services.
• Advanced expertise in enterprise relational databases, stored procedures, triggers and replication.
• Background‑job/orchestration library experience.
• Windows shell automation and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Client‑side scripting with a common DOM/utility library (e.g., jQuery) and server‑side scripting language for legacy web modules.
• GitLab source control, merge‑request workflow and CI/CD pipeline authoring.
• Fintech/payments domain knowledge (payment gateways, card processing, wallets, mobile money, acquiring or settlement systems).
