General Field Service Engineer III – Satellite Systems

About the role

Sigma Defense Systems is looking for a General Field Service Engineer III to support testing, integration, training, and maintenance of the Block II Tactical Relay family for the Airborne ISR Data Transport program. The engineer will work directly with satellite communications hardware and provide on‑site expertise to military and multinational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, operate, and train personnel on Block II Tactical Relay systems.
• Support testing, integration, and field maintenance of satellite modems, redundancy switches, up/down converters, HPAs, LNAs, LNBs, waveguide assemblies, IF cabling, antennas, SSPA, ACU, UPS, HVAC, and generators.
• Diagnose and isolate RF signal faults and perform corrective actions.
• Collaborate with US Military satellite communications units, providing expertise on space‑segment provisioning and gateway operations.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with security and safety standards.

Required profile

• 4+ years of satellite system operations experience.
• Working knowledge of US Military satellite communications procedures, FDMA and TDMA techniques.
• Proficiency in RF signal flow, fault isolation, and multicast communications.
• IT systems administration experience with routing and switching (Cisco CCNA preferred).
• Ability to work with multi‑national staff, senior officers, and NCOs.
• Valid U.S. passport, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain an active Top Secret clearance.
• Education: Bachelor’s in engineering +5 years experience, or Associate’s +7 years, or high school diploma +12 years.
