Radio Access Network (RAN) Planning Engineer

About the role

The Radio Access Network (RAN) Planning Engineer will lead radio planning activities, optimise network performance and support capacity expansion across Accra and the Tema region. The role involves data collection, drive testing, site surveys and close collaboration with marketing, sales and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse drive‑test data to identify coverage gaps and conduct site visits for emerging urban and suburban areas.
• Create propagation and coverage plots using the Asset Planning Tool for 2G/3G/4G voice and data services.
• Perform traffic‑trend analysis, review site capacity utilisation and recommend network expansions.
• Prepare cell‑design data, frequency plans and integrate new sites into the network.
• Coordinate installation of repeaters and mobile BTS for special events and EBU customers.
• Liaise with marketing, sales and technical projects to ensure sufficient capacity for festivals and national programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum BSc in Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in a telecom environment, preferably in radio network planning.
• Strong knowledge of GSM principles, digital communication concepts and current LTE technologies.
• Proficient oral and written English and alignment with MTN values and behaviours.
