General Manager – Operations

About the role

The General Manager, Operations will provide strategic leadership across all operational functions, ensuring seamless daily cadence and alignment with the Managing Director’s vision. This senior role demands a hands‑on approach to process discipline, team performance, and compliance within an agriculture‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational cadence across HR, production, QA, logistics and FMCG functions.
• Establish and maintain an escalation protocol, filtering issues before they reach senior management.
• Conduct weekly operational reviews with department heads and deliver consolidated summaries to the MD.
• Develop, document and enforce SOPs for procurement, production, packaging, order‑to‑cash, HR onboarding/exit, and budget management.
• Own the company’s ERP system, ensuring data integrity, user discipline and continuous improvement.
• Foster a workflow‑discipline culture, flagging deviations and documenting improvements.
• Directly manage operational department heads, set expectations, hold regular one‑to‑ones and drive performance.
• Collaborate with HR on payroll accuracy, appraisal cycles and staff welfare.
• Maintain quality, food‑safety standards and drive certifications such as IFS, Halal and Organic.
• Oversee logistics, warehousing and production scheduling to meet delivery targets.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 7 years of operations management experience.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage senior stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical mindset focused on process discipline and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and people‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• ERP system management.
• Development and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Knowledge of food safety and quality certifications (IFS, Halal, Organic).
• Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (FDA, EPA, local authorities).
