General Manager, Sustainability & Shared Value

About the role

The General Manager, Sustainability & Shared Value will lead MTN Ghana’s sustainability agenda, embedding responsible practices into core business operations and overseeing the MTN Foundation’s CSR initiatives. This senior position reports to the Chief Corporate Services & Sustainability Officer and works within a dynamic telecom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a sustainability strategy aligned with MTN’s vision, values, regulatory requirements and local market nuances.
• Create a roadmap and drive execution of sustainability and shared‑value initiatives across the organization.
• Define, localize and enforce group policies, processes and programs supporting environmental stewardship, digital human rights and ESG partnerships.
• Lead responsible supply‑chain initiatives and ESG reward programs for vendors, suppliers and customers.
• Monitor, collect and analyse ESG compliance data, ensuring accurate reporting and continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic oversight for the MTN Foundation, guaranteeing CSR projects adhere to established policies and practices.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in sustainability, CSR or related fields, preferably within telecom or ICT.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities with a track record of driving enterprise‑wide sustainability programs.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing internal teams, external partners and regulatory bodies.
• Deep understanding of ESG frameworks, environmental regulations and shared‑value creation.
