Hardware Engineer (Founding Member)

About the role

Honeyguide is looking for a highly versatile Hardware Engineer to join its founding hardware team in Accra. As a core member you will help create cutting‑edge, outdoor‑grade mechatronic systems that empower small‑scale farmers across the globe.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end design and development of mechanical, electronic, optical and hydraulic components.
• Integrate robotics, AI, sensors and communication modules into robust field‑ready prototypes.
• Drive rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration cycles to validate performance in harsh environments.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, manufacturing and vendor partners to scale production.
• Develop firmware, system architecture and computer‑vision algorithms that support autonomous operation.
• Oversee documentation, quality assurance and compliance for automotive‑grade mechatronic systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Proven experience designing, building and scaling outdoor, automotive‑grade mechatronic systems.
• Willingness to work full‑time on‑site in Accra as the sole professional focus.
• Deep knowledge of local component availability, supply chains and appropriate manufacturing methods.
• Strong collaboration skills, high integrity and punctuality.
• Fluent English communication.
