Haul Truck Operator

About the role

Newmont is seeking a reliable Haul Truck Operator to join its mining team at the Ahafo Mine in Ghana. The operator will drive haul trucks safely and efficiently to meet daily production targets while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑shift and on‑shift activities, including attending briefings and following the daily haul plan.
• Conduct thorough pre‑start inspections of the truck, tyres, lights, signals and brakes.
• Operate the haul truck to transport ore and material to designated locations.
• Communicate any defects, spills or incidents to the dispatcher and supervisor via two‑way radio.
• Report accidents, incidents and equipment malfunctions promptly.

Required profile

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail for equipment inspections.
• Good communication skills for reporting to supervisors and dispatchers.
